Sending A Match Report to FGIF

The Travellers’ Tales report is undoubtedly one of the most popular features on the FGIF Website. Whether you are sending in a match report for the first time or are a seasoned TT regular, all contributions are gratefully received. So if you have been to a game recently and want to spread the word about a new club or ground, a high scoring game or simply to report on your visit, then we would love to hear from you. Below are some guidelines for those ‘hoppers who are perhaps unsure where to begin:

(1)     The style and length of the report can vary from a few lines to several paragraphs. The choice is yours!

(2)     An introduction may simply list some of the following items:

Date of game; teams; fixture; result; attendance & programme information.

(3)     The body of the report could include a few lines used to describe:

(a)    a brief ground description;

(b)    a short match report;

(c)    details about the cost involved (travel; entrance fee; programme price etc);

(d)    travel directions and location of the ground.

(4)     Remember to give the game a FGIF Rating based on the overall ENTERTAINMENT VALUE:

       Key:  5 - excellent;  4 - very good;  3 - good; 2 - poor and 1 - at least it was a tick!

(5)   Any personal views can be made although in some instances these can be edited!
