Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 23: July 2021...Recent additions to database...

Programme covers (left to right): (1) New WMRL club Ninevah Stallions issued from the off this season, but online only and not available at their games either. (2) One growth area for new issuers this year has been Women's programmes. Shown here is an excellent effort from Sherborne Town Ladies from a WFA cup tie. (3) I can't tell you much about Santos United. They play in Charlton Park in South East London and issued this really good 8 pager for the visit of Siemens Sports back in 1993. No idea what the league was though.

Programme covers (left to right): (4) A new issuer to me came in the ESFA Trophy from Tonbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys. Local senior club Tonbridge allowed the boys to play at Longmead Stadium which must have been a bit of a treat for all concerned. (5) Sadly, some areas of the game have seen very few new issuers at all. With the FA Sunday cup being cancelled again, the only new Sunday club issue I have seen this season is from Sunderland Sunday league outfit Witherwack, and even that is another online only effort. (6) In a similar vein, the only new Scottish issue I have seen is from Inverness Athletic and guess what? They are another online only programme.

Programme covers (left to right): (7) Central Midlands League side Renishaw issued a very basic 4 page programme for 50p for their games this season. Minimal content, but at least they bothered. (8) No new issues at all from Wales this year, but an addition to the database came from Glyn Ceiriog from their North East Wales cup tie with Wrexham Stiffs in 1995. (9) Saving my favourite to last, I give you Cholsey United of the Reading & District league from 1948. What a wonderful old programme this is and entirely hand written both inside and out.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 22: July 2020...Recent additions to database...

Below are scans of some of the recent additions to the database. From top left to bottom right they are:-

Programme covers (left to right): (1) Whilst not a new addition to the database, this pre league Spurs programme recently sold on Ebay for just 2569 pounds plus postage! Time to check out the loft I think! (2) Queens University Belfast provided one of the biggest shocks ever in the Irish cup, by beating Linfield in round 5. They do not issue for league games, but did a couple for their cup run. (3) Tollington Arms are a Sunday club who issued way back in 1980, but who have only just come to light for us collectors.

Programme covers (left to right): (4) New issuers in the Devon league this season are Clyst Valley. Excellent programme, well printed and loads to read make this a super addition to the ranks of below step six issuers. (5) Hyde Rovers are a youth team from Essex, and for their U12s match with Heath Park in 1988 they issued this super 16 pages effort for the benefit of all the mums and dads watching their little treasures. (6) The latest Welsh protest club are Bangor 1876. They only issued a couple of programmes last season, one of which was for this Welsh Cup tie v Penycae. The last protest club, FC Nomads of Connahs Quay, have now folded, so will this new Bangor one fare any better?

Programme covers (left to right): (7) Leafield Ladies are one of a plethora of new issuers from the Womens National league this season. The reason being that clubs in the two top divisions must issue, and those in the next tier of 3 divisions must produce at least a teamsheet. Not a bad effort at all here with plenty to read inside. (8) One club I had never heard of before are Bishopmill United from Scotland. They issued for their Junior cup tie with Kello Rovers in 1997, and as far as I know this is their only issue to date. (9) The oddly named FC Sez are from the Central Midlands league. They do not have to issue in their division, but did manage a couple of programmes for cup ties during the recently curtailed season.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 21: July 2019...Recent additions to database...

Below are scans of some of the recent additions to the database. From top left to bottom right they are:-

Programme covers (left to right): (1) A very short lived Bloxwich Strollers club. Formed in 1952, they folded just 3 years later; (2) Burnley Women from the Women’s National league are one of many new issuers this season. The reason being that all clubs in the top two tiers of the league must issue and (3) Colony Park Amateurs are from Aberdeenshire, and are the only new Scottish non league issuer I have come up with this season!

Programme covers (left to right): (4) I had never heard of East Kilbride Rovers, until I spotted this one on ebay. From 1972-73; (5) The FA Sunday cup has produced another large batch of new issuers this season. This one is from Main Line Social from Leeds and (6) Marconi Athletic are from Chelmsford, and this super programme is what they were producing in 2005...

Programme covers (left to right): (7) Sideburn Bob is in the background of this issue from Netherseal St Peter. Netherseal has the distinction of being the southern most village in Derbyshire, with the club playing in the Midland Regional Alliance; (8) This season has seen the resurrection of former Southern league professionals, Pontypridd FC. Just the one programme issued this season, for their inaugural match and (9) As far as I am aware this one from

FC Wickhamford is the first ever club issue from anyone in the Stratford Alliance. If I am wrong about that please let me know!

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 18 July 2018...Recent additions to database...

Below are scans of some of the recent additions to the database. From top left to bottom right they are:-

(1) East of Scotland league side Tweedmouth Rangers issued regularly for the first time in 2017-18. (2) Devon & Exeter League side Cronies used to be called Henry's Cronies. They have issued under both names for several seasons now. (3) A very rare Sunday club issue from Newfoundpool based Westcotes Old Boys from 1977-78.

(4) The FC United of Manchester Women's programme says it is volume 6 issue 4. I can't understand how I have missed this one for 6 seasons! (5) Similarly, Pwllheli Town of the Caernarfon & District league, who issued regularly in season 1999-2000, but I only unearthed fairly recently. (6) An English Schools U19 cup match from 1990 saw a four page programme issued by Hemel Hempstead School for the visit of Harvey Grammar School from Folkestone.

(7) Lovely old programme from Swanton Abbott of the North Norfolk league who issued for their Norfolk Primary cup tie with Marlborough OB in 1990-91. (8) Redditch United Ladies issued this super programme for their WFA cup tie with local rivals Solihull Moors Ladies last October. (9) The first ever issue from Rhosllanerchrugog looks a bit amateurish, doesn't it? It was, nevertheless, a most welcome addition to the ranks of Welsh non league issuers.

Recent additions to database...

Programme covers (left to right): (1) Fife Amateur club, Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts AFC, from season 2001-2002.

Programmes from Scottish Amateur clubs are very unusual. (2) New boys Brynmawr AFC, from the Gwent County league this season.

All clubs in this league must issue for every game, but getting hold of new issues can be very tricky. (3) A very rare Sunday club issue from Aldridge Town FC of the Sutton Sunday league from 1990-91..

Programme covers (left to right): (4) A very faint issue from the Schools cup in 1984-85. Westlands School from Torquay                         entertain St Josephs School from Swindon in a second round tie. (5) An unusual single sheet war time issue from London Fire Services        as they play Tooting & Mitcham in the South Eastern Combination in 1944. (6) Playing in the now defunct Burton & District league were Uttoxeter FC, who had this tremendous programme on offer in 1991-92..

Programme covers (left to right): (7) Scottish Junior cup action from 2014 as Spey Valley FC play Aberdeen East End in 2014-15.                   Spey Valley subsequently merged with Grantown and are now known as Spey Valley United. (8) Sporting Khalsa Women did not                    issue for every game in 2016-17, but when they did it was this super full colour effort which was given out for free.

(9) A programme from the original Tufnell Park FC team from 1948, as they play, and beat, Corinthian Casuals.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 16 August 2016...Recent additions to database...

Below are scans of some of the recent additions to the database. From top left to bottom right they are:-

(1) York Sunday League club, YORK NOMADS SOCIETY FC from season 1991-92. The programme is numbered volume 3, so they had obviously been issuing for a couple of years before this one; (2) New boys VILLA DINO CHRISTCHURCH, from the Gwent County League this season. The Villa Dino name is from their sponsor's restaurant; (3) 2015-16 was the first season of issue for UNITY FC of the Notts Senior League. A rumour of an end of season merger with another local club could mean this is their last season of issue too; (4) A slightly feint issue from AMERSHAM ANGELS of the Home Counties Women's League in 1972, sees QPR Women arriving in Chesham; (5) New Scottish Junior club GARTCAIRN has issued throughout their debut season 2015-16; (6) Another new issuer, this time in the Schools and Juniors club section, sees Manchester club DENTON YOUTH U15'S produce an excellent and informative four pager for the visit of Avro U15's; (7) Northern Ireland amateur club NORTEL entertain league side Portadown in the Intermediate cup competition 2008-09. Nortel is one of Northern Ireland's telephone service providers; (8) A very home spun look to this programme from Suffolk & Ipswich League club MARTLESHAM in 1982-83 season. The programme is produced by the Beardshall family, we learn inside that it is edited by Michael Beardshall and typed up by Elsie Beardshall, and finally, (9) A short lived NEW BRIGHTON AFC club next. This lot were formed in 1993 and played in the West Cheshire League before folding in 2012.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 12 August 2015...Recent additions to database....

Below are scans of some of the recent additions to the database. From top left to bottom right they are:-

(1) The 1948 LLANDUDNO JUNCTION programme comes from the second of three clubs to bear the name over the years. This club were formed in 1937 and the name disappeared when they merged with Conwy to form Borough United in 1954; (2) Before they joined the Central Midlands league, KILLAMARSH ATHLETIC played in the Sutton & Skegby League. The programme shown here is from a 1987-88 fixture with Tibshelf White Hart; (3) HARROWBY SAINTS were the reserve side of Harrowby United. They only formed in 2014, joined the Central Midlands league, and then folded in March 2015, making this a pretty rare programme to obtain; (4) My thanks go to Andrew Conway for the oldest new programme of this year's selection. WEYBRIDGE FC entertain Egham in a Surrey Senior League fixture in March 1923; (5) Wolverhampton Sunday League side COMPTON, from 1984-85; (6) The Worcester League sadly folded in the summer of 2014 after 120 years. Back in 1983 newly formed club COMER PARK IMP-PRINT had just joined and were issuing from the off; (7) A short lived BOOTLE club next. This version formed in 1948 and lasted just 6 years until folding during the 1953-54 season. The programme shown here is from a Lancashire Combination local derby with Marine in September 1952; (8) Tolworth based BYRON WANDERERS played Harefield United in a Parthenon league game in December 1964 and finally, (9) DANESMORE CASUALS are a junior club from Wednesfield and back in 1993-94 they issued this very impressive 12 pager for a friendly match with Halas Hawks.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 8 May 2013...Scottish Womens Premier League 2012-13

Steve writes (on 15/05/13): 'I thought you might like this piece on the Scottish Women's Premier league, and the new programmes being issued there. In my first news bulletin (below) I gave a mention to the Scottish Women's Premier league, and the programmes being issued there. By way of an update, here is the situation for the new season which has just started'.

'Three new issuers have come to hand, and these are from the two newly promoted clubs, Buchan Ladies and Kilwinning Sports Club Ladies, and also one from that most secretive of clubs Rangers Ladies. Scans of the three covers are shown here, and by my calculations that just leaves Falkirk Ladies as the only club not to have ever issued'.

Steve's UK NLPD News Bulletin - No. 1 July 2011...Scottish Women's Premier League 2011-12

Like it's English counterparts, the SWPL is a Summer league, this season running with 11 clubs. Unlike Super League clubs in England though, Scottish clubs issue their own match programmes rather than use a template issued by the FA.

So far I have managed to obtain programmes from seven of the clubs who are confirmed as issuing with the complete details as follows:

Celtic Ladies - Eight full colour pages for £1

Falkirk Ladies - Not issuing this season.

Forfar Farmington Ladies - Eight pages for £1

Glasgow City Ladies - The only programme I have seen from them was for a pre-season friendly with Birmingham City, which had 8 glossy and full colour pages for £2. Not sure if this is what they issue for league games or not.

Hamilton Academical Women - Four pages for £1.

Hibernian Ladies - Eight full colour pages for £1.

Hutchison Vale Ladies - Eight pages on glossy paper for £1.

Inverness Ladies - Not issuing at present but hope to start when season resumes from its break in August.

FC Kilmarnock - Same as Inverness Ladies.

Rangers Ladies - Absolutely no information received from Rangers, so no idea.

Spartans Ladies - Long time issuers, with this season's being eight pages in full colour.

Here are the programme cover scans from Celtic Ladies FC; Glasgow City Ladies FC and Hutchison Vale Ladies FC...
