Sixteen pages of adverts in a commendable effort from a club whose issue improves every season. Given this was Barton's third home game in a week, programme editor Phil Hastings (bartontown@gmail.com) must have been extremely busy. The content was smack up to date, with a match report and stats from last Saturday's game against Glasshoughton Welfare. This fixture also featured in a 'What The Papers Said' section. There was a welcome from long-serving club secretary Pete Mitchell, a review of the past weekend's matches involving NCEL clubs, two pages (including pen pictures) devoted to the visitors, two pages detailing Barton's history, two pages for the Swans' game-by-game statistics, four pages of fairly bewildering information which included Most Frequent Scorelines in the NCEL this season (0-1, depressingly, topped the table), plus a round-up of very recent news from this league. An eyecatching cover, too - no mean feat when you consider Barton's sky blue and white colours are rather less than vivid. This North Lincolnshire derby attracted an excellent (for Division One) gate in excess of 100, so the programme sold out. Rebuilding at Marsh Lane is now finished. If you went to the previous ground, whose pitch was at 90 degrees to the new one, I'd strongly urge a revisit. The old ground was little more than a park set-up whereas the new is a pukka little stadium, with a clubhouse/dressing room complex the envy of most clubs in this league'. Thursday 9 October - Middlesex County League Fixture Update: Tony Incenzo - writes: 'A REMINDER that the second match of the Middlesex League’s series of Saturday morning kick-offs has been confirmed as Kodak (Harrow) v Marsh Rangers on October 18th at 11am. Thursday 9 October - Latest Programme News: Rod Grubb - programme details from GSA Sports; Pilkington XXX and Walsall Wood (all Midland Combination Football League Premier Division and all v Nuneaton Griff) played on 20/09/08; 30/09/08 and 04/10/08 respectively and Coventry Sphinx (Midland Football Alliance) v Bridgnorth Town on 27/09/08 added to the PA page. Tuesday 7 October - Fixture Information (Wroxham v Kings Lynn, FAC3QRd on 11/10/08): Gyles Basey Fisher - writes: 'Just thought you might be interested to know the following, taken from the Wroxham FC website, as it is one of the stand out fixtures of the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round' FA CUP ALL TICKET - Following a meeting with Norfolk Police and Kings Lynn FC it has been agreed the FA Cup tie on October 11th will be ALL TICKET with a capacity of 1100.
